I know as usual my fellow citizens have to start calling me names that I am an inquisitive elderly citizen who does not always mind my business.

But anyway I don’t mind that again because some of them are completely ignorant of their rights, less to talk of fighting for them, which is why as a right activist and human rights defender for outstanding period, I will continue my duty without fear.

And whether they appreciate me or not that is their business because the fearless bird has made name for himself that is why he is well known for his straightforwardness and objectivity in dealing with national issues, the more reason he is so much loved and respected by those who know his worth.

Many people know Bra Parrot loves this kingdom and the entire inhabitants and always ready and willing to sacrifice for their development in general.

The bird really wonders why people should criticize the active bird for merely saying some institutions need not exist, which they very well.

Except those who are economical with the truth but the fact is laid bare. It’s now left with those unbelieving Thomases to prove the bird correct or wrong.

To substantiate what the bird has insisted are deadwoods, he has since launched full scale investigation to point out issues for the attention of the government to take action by holding those responsible accountable.

Like the patriotic Parrot who is a media guru, other media practitioners have also written countless articles to draw the attention of government to take action, but all those endless writings and talking seem to have all fallen on deaf ears.

For instance, the Parrot has insistently written about the number of potholes in the city, the unfinished work at Fourah Bay Road/Eastern Police axis, the endless and deafening noise in the city and many other critical issues across the country but those concerned never took action.

All the institutions responsible are square pegs in round-holes for example the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) cannot still fixed the bad roads in the country, Freetown City Council (FCC) cannot stop the mega phones and loud speakers that are disturbing the peace of the people.

In the case of addressing the noise pollution in the city, the metro police are in fact using the whole thing as business, when they seize these mega phones and loud speakers instead of taking to police for action they will ask for bribe between NLe 10 and above from the culprit traders.

As for the unfinished poor work at Fourah Bay Road, the people have described the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) as the worst institution ever in the Bio Administration.

Because the bird does not know everything, he decided to go out to get the views of fellow citizens. All those he contacted expressed similar sentiments just as the bird was expecting.

In fact, they said that some of those institutions need not exist as they are not serving the purpose for which they were created.

Meanwhile, the bird will continue to hit the nail on the head until something is done to address those key development issues not only in Freetown but across the country.
