Samuel Benjamin Moiba and Alfred Abdul Karim Koroma both sailors at Sea Coach Express were yesterday sent to prison by Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 for allegedly stealing from one of their passenger’s items valued at $5,200 US dollars.
The accused persons Samuel Benjamin Moiba and Alfred Abdul Karim Koroma made their second appearance and were arraigned on two counts charges of conspiracy contrary to law and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on count one, the accused persons on Sunday 9th February 2025 at Sir Samuel Lewis Road Aberdeen, Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to with larceny.
The police further alleged on counts two that the accused persons on the same date at Sea Coach Express Aberdeen, stole one black colour suit case value 150 US dollar, 1 gray colour Dell computer laptop, black colour A23, Samsung mobile phone and other assorted items all to the total valued of 5,200 United States dollars equivalent to NLe124,800 property of Doctor Sheriff Emil Whites whiles in custody of the management of Sea Coach Express.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons, no plea was taken.
The police prosecutor Inspector Kadie Taylor requested for an adjourment to called her witnesses.
Magistrate Kekura granted her application and remanded the accused persons in prison whiles the matter was adjourned to the 10th March 2025.
