Prince Alie, unemployed, made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on a count charge of larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Saturday 15th February, 2025 at Sewa Ground, Victoria Park in the western area in Freetown, stole three generator batteries and nine slabs all to the total value of thirteen thousand and ninety five leones (13,095) property of Yayah Jamin
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Isatu Baba Musa led prosecution witness number one Emmanuel Saio Koroma an electrical engineer attached to the Sewa Ground Victoria Park Market said he know the accused person and used to help him out with his work
He recalled that on 15th February, 2025, something transpired between himself and the accused person on the above date. He said he received information from the security guards at his post that the accused was arrested for stealing their properties. He said he was called at the Central Police Station where he identified the missing items and gave their value with the grand total of thirteen thousand and ninety five leones and made statement to the police.
Counsel representing the accused H. Thullah, cross examined the witness and renewed his previous bail application on behalf of the accused.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura refused bail because the address of the accused is vague and adjourned the matter to 11th March 2025.
