The attention of the Wise Bird has been drawn to the negative attitude of most commercial motor drivers, kekeh and okada riders in the country.

The Wise Bird has noticed that, government in its Wisdom all the way decided to reduce the price of fuel so that the movement of people from point A-B will be easy while the cost will be very minimal.

On two separate occasions the government has reduced the price of fuel so that the people will be able to move their goods at a faster rate.

But yet still drivers are very reluctant to go by the government orders by way of reducing the cost of transportation in the country.

From the look of things it seems that, the government and the Union under which the drivers are operating cannot control their membership by way of putting structures in place.

It goes without saying that, under planet earth, after God in Heaven, next is the sitting government in any country, but if the government cannot control just a fraction of the people, the Wise Bird is wondering whether the government will be able to control the entire nation?

At a time like this when the cost of fuel has been reduced by the government, the cost of transportation should also be reduced to the happiness of the people, but it is not so done under the watch of the SLPP government.

The Wise Bird is of the view that it is now clear that, the WAKA FINE buses are not owned by the government, and the price of the buses should have also been reduced to a 5 Leone just as poda-podas are asking to pay.

As for the kekehs and okadas they charge passengers at their will without thinking of government action of condemning them for doing so.

The question is, is the government not aware of what is going on in the country in relation to transportation?

In fact, it seems the Ministry of Transport and Aviation has been bought over by the drivers’ Union, kekeh and okada riders Unions to the detriment of the people.

The people are finding it very difficult to move from place to place, originally kekehs price was Le 2,000 old money all over before the advent of the new Leone, but today, the price of kekeh in town service  doubles the price of going to Waterloo.

As the bird will never do things in isolation, he always goes out to get the views of the general public to get a balance story.

The bird contacted people in the East, Central and those in the West; they all gave the same experience in the area of transportation.

Others said the government cannot control the drivers because of political reasons, even went further to say there was no need for the deduction of fuel price because commercial drivers cannot obey government instructions.
