The Executive Secretary of Sierra Leone Chambers for Agribusiness Development, Mr. Ahmed Akim Nanoh has informed the press that SLeCAD in collaboration with the scaling up nutrition secretariat (SUN) will be organizing their fourth nutrition and trade fair exhibition at Moyamba, south-east of the country.

Speaking to the press at SLeCAD conference room on Saturday 4th March, 2023, Mr. Nanoh stated that the theme for this year’s exhibition and trade fair is “Eat nutritious food for healthy living”.

He said the nutrition trade fair is to showcase food items and raw materials available in Sierra Leone.

Mr. Nanoh disclosed that president Julius Maada Bio will be the distinguished grand chief patron of the occasion alongside the vice president Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and other stakeholders of government. He said the event is not only to show case but opportunity to connect to the external market, as the exhibition is to sell and show case their items.

He stated that the whole diplomatic community will be there as they are providing funding for the exhibition.

The Executive Secretary for SLeCAD said they are happy working with SUN Secretariat as an office of the vice president to reduce malnutrition.

According to a recent data from the world food programme (WFP) Mr. Nanoh disclosed 2.2 million Sierra Leoneans are in chronic hunger and 1.6 million in acute hunger.
