As schools reopen for 2024/2025 academic year, Hon. Memunatu Jalloh, nicknamed Hon. Mems, has helped about 43 school with learning materials.
That happened on September 8, 2024, targeting 129 pupils who scored excellently goods in the 2023 National Primary School Examination (NPSE).
The particular chiefdom is Maasimra, Port Loko District.
This gesture comes in response to the ongoing economic hardships affecting many families, making it challenging for parents to provide basic educational supplies for their children to enroll in junior secondary schools.
The donation includes essential items such as backpacks, notebooks, pens, and geometrical sets, aimed at alleviating the financial burden on parents and ensuring the pupils can continue their education without interruption.
Hon. Mems emphasized the importance of education as a pathway to lifting people from poverty as she reaffirmed her commitment to supporting her community during this tough time.
This initiative has been widely praised by parents and village heads as they expressed gratitude for the much-needed assistance given.
Mr. Kamara, a teacher at R.C Konta Kuma School, expressed his happiness as he thanked Hon. Mems for the timely and valuable donation offered to the community, and Kamara praised her philanthropic efforts.
Aminata Koroma, a parent of two beneficiary pupils, profusely thanked Hon. Mems for her philanthropic assistance. She expressed her delight, calling it a “breath of fresh air.”
