“I am thrilled to announce that Hon. Mohamed Bangura, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Parliament, who also doubles as the Deputy Head of Delegation of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) has been sworn in to serve as a distinguished member of the Pan-African Parliament”.
The Pan-African Parliament is also noted as the African Parliament which was instituted in 2004.
It is the legislative body of the African Union.
It comprises of 275 Members of Parliament representing 55 African countries.
Today, the distinguished deputy head of delegation Hon. Mohamed Bangura has just been approved as member of the 3rd ordinary session of the Sixth Parliament.
Hon. Mohamed Bangura, is fully ready with his unwavering commitment to serve the best interest of Sierra Leone ranging from trade investments, upholding the rule of law, democracy, bilateral relations between member states in the Africa region.
Bangura said, he will utilize this opportunity to thank the leadership of the House of Parliament for their relentless efforts in ensuring the effective service of legislative in all facets.
In his statement, Mohamed Bangura heaped special appreciations to the leadership in the Sierra Leone House of Parliament ranging from the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Leader of Government Business, Colleague MPs especially those well-wishers, and the vast majority of the leadership of the opposition.
He said it is a momentous day for him as he have been sworn in to be part of the opening ceremony of the 3rd Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) in Midland, South Africa.
“I’m overwhelmed because of many things, my name was removed from the ECOWAS list reasons I don’t know, but the God of restoration has catapulted me for a bigger one which is the Pan-African Parliament to serve as Deputy Head of Delegation” he said.
He said in case you don’t know, the PAN- African Parliament is the legislative body of the African Union that is composed of 275 members of Parliament representing 55 African countries.
This can only be God, adding that his unflinching commitment to serve his country will be his first priority.
“To my people of Karene District, I said thank you for believing in me in the first place. I am of the firm conviction that I will represent Sierra Leone very well according to standards and procedures” he added.
He went on that nobody has the final destination about his life, but God while urging to embrace the ideology of national inclusion and unity of which he stands for in all facets.
