One of outstanding Sierra Leonean models and brand influencers, Esther Yeanoh Kamara has openly debunked allegations of financial misconduct being made against her person by Lake Group of Companies.
In a Press Release dated March 19, 2025 Esther Yeanoh Kamara described the sad accusations as “baseless, false and unfounded,” thus maintaining that she has substantial evidence to prove her innocence.
The disagreement started from a March 7, 2025 Press Statement issued by the Management of Lake Production, which was titled: “Immediate Action Required: Misuse of Funds and Expulsion.” Signed by one Musa A. Kamara, who is the Chief Operating Officer of Lake Group of Companies, which is a subsidiary of Miss Freetown Pageant SL Limited. The said release accuses Esther Yeanoh Kamara of mismanaging a sum of over SLE 52,888 as monies of 2024 Miss Freetown event.
In an interview with Dr. Alhaji K. Tarawally commonly known as Laj-K, CEO of Lake Group of Companies, who is presently based in America, said the situation is not a saga; it involves a company and an employee who has embezzled a company’s funds.
“Our legal team is currently prosecuting the matter. We will not make any further comments until we either recover the stolen money from Esther or meet in court. Well, we keep you updated regarding that” he explained.
Though the statement was widely circulated online on March 17 by popular blog pages, including a post by Hawanatu Konneh of Network and Salone Gossip Reloaded, her posts featured Esther Yeanoh Kamara’s photographs without her consent.
Esther Yeanoh Kamara, who had worked with Lake Production from 2021 to March 2025, expressed disappointments over what she termed as character assassination. “If Lake Production believes I misused their funds, there are proper channels to follow for those funds to be recovered ,” she stated, adding that her commitment to professionalism and integrity remains intact as always.
The release from Lake Production reportedly warned of legal consequences, including a possible intervention by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)
that is if Esther Yeanoh Kamara fails to refund that sum of mlney within 48 hours.
However, Esther Yeanoh Kamara remains undeterred.
“I have consulted my legal team and possess all necessary evidence to prove my innocence. I have a family name and a brand to protect and I will not compromise my hard-earned reputation for this,” she declared.
She also highlighted her role in organizing what she described as one of the most successful Miss Freetown events ever organized in Sierra Leone’s history
She credited that to her hardwork and her team for the event’s success.
As the dispute unfolds, no one knows if legal proceedings will be initiated.
While Esther Yeanoh Kamara asserts her confidence in clearing her name, Lake Production has yet to respond publicly to her statement.
Meanwhile, Esther Yeanoh Kamara remains “calm and optimistic,” expressing her readiness to addressing the matter through appropriate legal channels.
