Several protesters on that fateful day on August 10,2022 called for the removal of incumbent President Julius Maada Bio; as they were chanting “Maada Bio Must Go”.
The protest, report say, came about following gross human rights violations by the ruling government, high rate of unemployment especially among youths and the high cost of living which had become unbearable for the common man to survive.

Sources further disclosed that the Sierra Leone Police who raided this ‘Ataya’ base spontaneously swooped on and eventually arrested everyone that were found within the said ‘Ataya’ base; and Alpha was among those that were apprehended.
Africa24 discovered that Alpha and others were taken into custody at the Police Station for further interrogation as they were all accused to have orchestrated the August 10, 2022 protest against the State. Their actions were considered by government and state authorities as a treason offence for them to have mounted an illegal protest.
During the course of our investigation, Africa24 also found out that, Alpha and co. whilst in police custody were able to make a miraculous escape for which they have been declared as fugitives.
