The opposition leader of Parliament, Hon Abdul Kargbo has said what he is very sacrosanct about is that, the All People’s Congress party will form a new government hopefully in 2028.
He made the submissions during the visit by the proposed APC flagbearer, Ady Macaulay to the APC Caucus in Parliament.
The leader told Ady Macaulay’s team that as MPs, they are in Parliament to represent their constituents and their political party.
He revealed that what
they want to see this time around is unity to prevail among the flagbearers, adding that, there is no way APC will lose the next elections.
He thanked the visiting team for donating 60 bags of 50kg rice to MPs, stating that MPs are concerned about to their constituencies.
Hon Kargbo also urged all flagbearers to advise their various bloggers and supporters to stop attacking their party members especially stakeholders.
The MP stressed that, if the APC misses its target now, it will be a serious challenge for the party in the future, and he said as MPs they are committed to showing attributes of fair play to all flagbearers.
“The party has almost 20 flagbearers vying for the highest position in the land.”
“This time around, let all flagbearers bear in mind that only one candidate will win and if one wins let us rally behind that person,” he pleaded.
Hon Abdul Kargbo informed that, the APC parliamentarians have corrected their mistakes this time and they have decided not to support a particular candidate or flagbearer.
“We are ready to receive each and every candidate and we are prepared to join all candidates during their campaigns in their constituencies.
All candidates are equal in the APC,” he said
He emphasized the need to have peaceful lower level elections and a level playing field for all candidates and supporters.
“Let us correct our mistakes and as MPs we are ready to accept anything that is transparent this time,” he said.
The MP also expressed dismay how Sierra Leoneans are suffering due to poor governance under the Paopa regime, and urged all stakeholders to support the grassroots.
“Our people are seriously suffering. The economy is on life support because of the bad management under President Bio.
“Let’s us redeem our constituents and the people of Sierra Leone as poverty is everywhere,” he said.
