Shafumu Smith, an unemployed fellow, has made his first appearance before Magistrate Josephine Feimata Hinga at Pademba Road Court No.5 in Freetown.
He stood on a count charge of committing Larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on the 20th February, 2025 at Model New Road in the Western Area, the accused stole oneTecno Spark 2 phone and one gold manual phone all to the total sum of three thousand one hundred Leones(3,100) as property of Foday Janneh.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Sergeant 9906 Umu Jalloh told the Magistrate that fact- charge shows no previous criminal records against the accused.
The accused was not legally represented and so he pleaded with the Magistrate to temper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Due to the plea mitigation by the accused, Magistrate Hinga sentenced him to eighteen months in prison to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
