The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) confirms that two turfs are set to be unveiled by end of February.
This latest development follows as football clubs continue to suffer major pitch crisis in the country.
SLFA informs the public that the news was relayed to them by the project manager of Edel Grass limited, Mr Mark Jonkers, who is overseeing the ongoing FIFA Artificial turf pitches construction in Sierra Leone.
On Tuesday January 23, 2024, Mark revealed that the SLFA academy and the Port Loko playing fields are set to turn green, citing February ending as the deadline for completion of work.
Mark made this statement while giving a progress report on the projects, during a seminar with the SLFA vice president 1, Harold Nat-Johnson, and other senior SLFA officials at the secretariat in Freetown.
Mark Jonkers further said that all the necessary equipment has been safely shipped into the country and that work is currently being expedited, to ensure a successful completion soonest, at the various sites, including SLFA academy field, approved school field, Port Loko town field and Bo coronation field.
