Despite the insistent criticism of the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) by Sierra Leoneans especially city dwellers for what they complained “inconsistent” power supply in their homes and business centers, have again commended the Authority for “consistency” and improvement in its operations especially during this festive season.
They said it has been a while now they have not enjoyed improved electricity supply especially during important occasions like this though amidst hardships.
Ibrahim Kamara, a resident in the east of the capital and a stout critic of EDSA, this time around, expressed among other things his delight and appreciation to the Authority for a job well done by supplying improved power to households in the entire city throughout the holidays.
Like the ordinary residents, many business people also expressed their appreciation to EDSA for the constant and improved electricity to their homes and business centers including entertainment spots, thus making them realize appreciable profit margin as compared to previous seasons.
Haja Khadijatu Turay, a businesswoman who trades in assorted soft drinks at west end, proudly states that she made decent profit during this period as a result of consistent power supply to her business center. Many other business people also expressed similar sentiments.
The improved supply of electricity to the city also prevented criminals from carrying out their usual nefarious activities during holidays, thus giving people the space and condusive atmosphere to enjoy.
They insisted that this is the best holidays they have enjoyed in terms of consistent power supply and implored the Authority to continue in that direction.
