The Wise Bird has been monitoring the activities of both the government and the main opposition (APC) party relating to the peace talks intended for the country.
Before the advent of the Bintumani meeting, a lot has been said about the June 24, 2023 general elections as many adjectives were used to describe the election by supporters and politicians on both ends.
After the polls, some supporters said the election was not credible, free, fair and transparent; others said the election was very controversial and that it did not meet international standard to be regarded as credible and fair.
All the observers both local and international had different views about the June 24, 2023 elections before, during and after voting.
Because of the election was acclaimed not to be credible by many, and so that gave cause the Bintumani meeting be held few months later.
It was during the Bintumani meeting that the tripartite committee was born. And the tripartite came and its members were said of not to have done what expected of them as committee members.
Both the government and the main opposition were not able to educate the people accurately as to what the tripartite was all about.
Speculations and counter speculations were flowing left and right as to what will be the outcome of the tripartite committee before the concluding stage.
Unfortunately, the tripartite committee recommendations did not capture the expectations of the people.
The bird can say without hesitation that, that was the time the political problem started afresh till now.
Some people have been saying the ECOMOG will be coming in the country to remove the current President Maada Bio which others are still expecting a re-run of the election.
The former Flag-bearer and Leader of the APC is on the other side fighting for what he called for an Electoral Justice.
The question the brave bird wants to ask is will he alone be able to fight for Electoral Justice under President Bio’s regime without the support of other members of the party?
The Wise Bird is very much skeptical as to whether Dr. Samura will succeed in his fight for a Electoral Justice to be seen under the present system of government.
Dr. Samura was accused of sell-out and undermining the opposition party, and so will he be able to fight his Electoral Justice fight? It is everbody’s guess now.
The bird has been reliably informed that, Dr. Samura and some members of the executive are at each other’s throat and that supporters of Dr. Samura and some members of the executive are not in good talking terms.
The bird contacted few members of the party about Dr. Samura’s fight for Electoral Justice, some said he is fighting a losing battle; believing he alone cannot fight an Electoral Justice fight under this regime.
Others said Dr. Samura is wasting his time, thinking firmly that President Maada Bio will not allow him to succeed with his so-called Electoral Justice fight.
One senior member of the APC told the bird that, the only thing the APC should do now is to unite the party for 2028 general elections, no-more-no-less as it is the only solution for now.
No amount of Electoral Justice fight will change the situation.
