Steven Jacob Amara, 23, was again arraigned before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 on Monday, 3rd February, 2025, on a count charge of house breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet, on Wednesday, 18th December, 2024 at No.12 FAO Drive, Crab Town, Aberdeen, Freetown, in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, broke and entered into the house of Emmanuel Adeyemi Shaw with intent to steal and did steal three bundles of PVC ceiling sheets each valued one thousand three hundred leones (NLe1,300.00) to the total of three thousand nine hundred leones (NLe3,900.00), two (2) pieces 3ft 6 inches foam mattresses each valued six thousand, six hundred and eighty leones, five cents (NLe 6,682.5) to the total value of thirteen thousand three hundred and sixty-five leones (NLe 13,365.00), five (5) cartoons floor tiles each valued four hundred leones (NLe 400.00) to the total value of two thousand leones (NLe2,000.00) and one EDSA meter value three thousand leones (NLe 3,000.00), all to the total value of twenty-two thousand, two hundred and sixty- five leones (NLe22,265.00), property of the said Emmanuel Adeyemi Shaw whilst in the custody of Abdul Amidu Koroma.
When the charge was read and put to the accused, no plea was taken.

Ishmael Richard Koroma a mason recognized the complainant and the accused in the matter as one of his neighbours.
He recalled that the period between the 14th December, 2024, whilst he was going out to buy topup, he saw the accused’s friend coming out of the complainant’s compound with his tiles, adding that he also saw and can recognize his friend.
Richard mentioned that when he returned, he could not see the accused and then explained the incident to the complainant, who later made statement to the police.
The accused was not legally represented.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused to the male correctional facility in Freetown and the adjourned the matter to the 10th February, 2025, for further proceedings.
