In a historic and strategic move towards peace and unity, the Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers Football Club Babadi Kamara, and President of the Sierra Leone Football Association Thomas Daddy Brima, met on Tuesday morning to engage in peace talks where both commit themselves to the development of the game.
The meeting, which took place with the intervention of Jimmy Batilo Songa, illustrates a turning point in the quest for collaboration and progress within the football family.
The dialogue, held at a neutral venue, sought to resolve ongoing tensions and differences, especially following the disagreements at last Saturday’s Ordinary Congress at Radisson Blu which ended abruptly following attacks on one of the officials.
The two leaders engaged in a candid discussion, with both reaffirming their commitment to the growth and development of football in Sierra Leone.
A key takeaway from the meeting was the mutual agreement reached by both Babadi Kamara and Thomas Daddy Brima to prioritize the development of the game above all else. The two leaders stressed that football should remain a unifying force for the nation and not a source of division.
Both leaders urged all stakeholders, including players, coaches and supporters, to calm down and understand that their shared vision for football is one of progress and unity.
They pointed out that football is a game that transcends individual differences and that the development of the sport should remain the primary focus of all involved.
