Hon. Edward Suluku commonly called Solution, on Thursday, January 29, 2025, officially declared his candidacy for the position of Organizing Secretary under the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

The declaration took place in Committee Room No.1 at the Parliament Building, Tower Hill, Freetown, where he addressed the Honorable Members of Parliament, and thereby outlining his vision and commitment to the party.

Hon. Suluku, a seasoned politician and former Member of Parliament, emphasized his long-standing service to the SLPP, particularly as the longest-serving Regional Chairman in the South.

He reflected on his years of dedication, noting that his tenure in that role had allowed him to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and enhance its influence across the region.

He expressed his desire to bring the same level of commitment, strategic planning, and leadership to the position of Organizing Secretary, a role he believes is crucial in ensuring the SLPP continue on its dominance in national politics.

During his declaration, Hon. Suluku passionately stated that his primary goal was to keep the SLPP in power for as long as it is possible.

He underscored the importance of organization and good structure in the party, stressing that effective mobilization and coordination is key to securing future electoral victories.

He acknowledged that leadership demands sacrifice and unwavering dedication, thus affirming that with the guidance of God and the collective support of SLPP members, success is inevitable.

Hon. Edward Suluku, popularly known as “Solution,” is not only a politician but he is also a successful businessman with vast experience in governance and party administration.

His political journey began in 2007 when he was elected as a Member of Parliament representing Moyamba District, a position he held until 2012.

His contributions to the district have earned him widespread recognition, leading to his appointment as Regional Chairman in Moyamba, where he continued to serve the party diligently. His leadership capabilities were further recognized when he was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs, a position that allowed him to contribute significantly to national governance and security.

Speaking with confidence, Hon. Suluku reassured party delegates that his experience, coupled with his deep understanding of party dynamics, positions him as the best candidate for the Organizing Secretary role.

He urged all SLPP delegates to support his candidacy, and promised that if given the mandate, he would work tirelessly to strengthen the party’s structure, and to expand its grassroots reach, and ensure its sustainability in power.

He concluded by making a heartfelt appeal to party members, emphasizing that his leadership would be one of inclusivity, dedication, and progress.

He pledged to do everything necessary to uphold the values of the SLPP and ensure its continued success in future elections.

His declaration was met with enthusiasm, as supporters expressed confidence in his ability to deliver on his promises and lead the party towards greater achievements.
