The Wise Bird always gives credit to where credit is due, and give praises to where praises are also due.
Trust, the Wise Bird jumped sky-high when he got the news that, His Excellency the President Julius Maada Bio had declared a State of Public Health Emergency, even though it was long over-due, but it is better late than never.
However, the worries the Wise Bird has now are that the process might be underminded by some unscrupulous citizens to make it counterproductive for the President.
The most respected, fearless, patriotic and uncompromising bird will say without a hesitation that the good idea of His Excellency, President Bio will be made counterproductive by the police.
Knowing the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) as the Wise Bird know them for their alleged corrupt practice, they will start to arrest innocent citizens unnecessarily in the name of the Health Emergency in order to collect bribes for them to be released, making the very good initiative of His Excellency the President to become useless.
What makes the Wise Bird very happy about the state of public health emergency is because the young men and women are almost half-dead today on the streets, dirty with swollen feet and do not take bathe. But with the emergency this ugly situation will be a thing of the past.
This thing called KUSH is here to send the youths of tomorrow to their early graves, because day-in-day-out the Wise Bird will hear of the death of 5 or 10 youth.
Very recently, about 36 were reported dead and buried in a mass grave, and on Friday last week; the brave bird himself saw one youth dead at Fourah Bay Road east of Freetown.
It is a fact that some people who do not love this country will go all out to sabotage the process all in the name of politics.
It is no secret that those responsible for collecting the corpses (dead bodies) will be presenting heavy bills to the government purporting to have collected so much dead bodies at different locations, thus making the wage bill to become bigger and bigger for the government.
This time around, the Wise Bird will monitor the collection exercise so that those collecting dead bodies might not present an unrealistic bill to government.
If, I may advise the government, those selling the KUSH in small quantity should not be targeted in totality but those importing the KUSH are the problem.
