The Wise Bird is getting series of telephone calls from some peace loving Sierra Leoneans who are expressing their dissatisfactions and frustrations over the way and manner in which some so-called contractors are operating in the country.

As Sierra Leoneans whether rich or poor, we must always learn to maintain our prestige and portray the good name of ourselves and the country at all times.

What we should do is to put the interest of the country above all else.

The most respected animal has noticed of late that our contractors are very far from being good contractors, their ultimate aim(s) is / are to amass wealth at every given time to the disadvantage of the people and by extension the country as whole.

The brave bird has noticed of late that, most of the contractors are not up to the task, not are even fit to be given the nomenclature “CONTRACTORS”.

Some of them are not even qualify to build a toilet, let alone talking about constructing a road, bridge or building a two classroom building.

Almost all the roads, bridges, schools and even private residents are poorly constructed at the detriment of the people, as the people’s their time, energy and monies are all wasted in the process of construction.

Bra Parrot is not making apologies for anybody nor is the Wise animal acting on sentiment in handling national issues that may in the future have some adverse effect on the reputation of the government and the country.

The attitude of our so-called contractors is very much disgraceful, they are known for quick money deals but doing poor work done.

Not that, the government is un-aware of all the poor work done but only that, some of the contractors are party members and they are in the good books of the sitting government, so they set blind eyes on whatever such as poor construction that is being done bad or a good one since- they are party members they care not.

It is time the government began to make some amends to show the world that, we are not as we have been classed.

From what the Wise Bird noticed most of the poor work done by these contractors, government is knowledgeable, one starts to wonder why wasting tax-payers’ monies on contractors who are not doing proper work in the interest of the nation.

In such circumstances there is every likelihood that, the International Community and even the business people will stop doing business with some of these so-called BAD CONTRACTORS.

It is no secret that, schools are falling down, bridges are broken down, private house are falling down not even to talk about the number of potholes in the country that SLRA cannot take care off.

Take the case of the Fourah Bay Road, Eastern Police junction that was poorly constructed to the disadvantage of the general public.

The body that is responsible for roads in the country (SLRA) is one of the most hopeless institutions in terms of roads maintenance in the country as the bird believes.

The bird sounded the views of people in respect of the poor construction of private homes, roads, bridges but to name a few.

All those the bird spoke with expressed anger over the poor construction of roads, schools and even private residents.

Some people described the contractors as ENEMIES OF THE STATE.
