The Hon Ibrahim Kabba, who’s representing the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Western Area Rural District, is sponsoring a summer school run up classes for the newly promoted candidates of the Basic Education Certificate Exams (BECE).
The official event and classes are staged at National Pentecostal School by Goderich Community Center for over 70 new BECE pupils.
“I am doing this to help prepare the pupils to face the next BECE exams and to take their attention away from the use of the harmful drugs and substance buse,” Hon. Kabba said.
He said he was able to pull this activity through with his personal savings, adding, “I want to ensure that this crop of pupils make fine grades to be able to gain successful admissions into senior secondary schools of their choices and spare their parents the hassle of having to find alternative schools for them in case of unsuccessful attempts on the exams. ”
The activity is projected to cost a tune of twenty thousand Leones (NLe 20.000).
The MP will also provide six note books and pens per child.
It could be recalled that the education is the flagship project of President Julius Maada Bio’s first term.
The free quality education had been a campaign tool of Bio’s regime.
There has been significant numbers of enrollments in both primary, Junior and Senior Secondary Schools education.
