The Strand Base Organization which is situated at No. 5 Waterloo Street has donated bags of rice and other food items to various mosques in the central district as part of their month of Ramadan token.
They hope the charity will benefit over 500 families.
The donation happened on Monday 1st April 2024.
In his address, the Public Relations Officer of the organization informed the beneficiaries that the organization serves as a credible humanitarian organ aimed to assisting the poor of the poorest especially living in the central axis of the capital.
It was founded in 2019, and since its establishment they’re committed to making similar donations from the little contributions made by members.
He encouraged all Muslim worshippers to have faith as only Allah can determine the destiny of mankind.
He said: “as we pray for forgiveness of our sins in this month of Ramadan, we should not forget to be law-abiding and show respect to one other, to be submissive and and be humble and above all to respect our leaders.”
In his response, Alhaji Muna Kargbo who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the organization for their continuous annual donations to Muslims.
He said it is good to give to others who cannot afford the means to live a good life.
He said the donation is a real indication of how true the believers are the members of the organization.
Prayers were held for the prosperity of the organization. Secretary General, Harold Hassan Tholley, chairman, Mohamed Bangura, Organizing Secretary Yusuf Kargbo, Vice Umar Yorpio, were all present.
