Aruna Fornah Opray who is a business man made another appearance before magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown.
He was accused of doing private criminal sermons with two count charges to wit fraudulent conversion contrary to Larceny Act 1916 of Sierra Leone.
He was again accused of a crime to obtain money by false pretenses.
According to the particulars of offence, sometimes in June 2024 at 15 Freetown Road Goderich in the west, he fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit one Sprinter vehicle with registration number AVC 775 valued at two hundred and fifty thousand Leones(250,000) which was entrusted to him by the complainant for the purpose of running transport.
Count further stated that on the same date and place the accused obtained the sum of one thousand United States Dollars from the said complainant by falsely pretending that he would service her vehicle knowing same to be false.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken.
Counsel representing the accused Thomas Moore Conteh renewed and adopted his previous bail applications on behalf of the accused.
Magistrate Bangura granted bail to the accused in the sum of three hundred thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum. The sureties mhst be residents in Freetown and should produce valid identity cards depicting their addresses.
The bail was to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar while
the matter was adjourned to 13th November 2024.
