Hon Ibrahim Tawa Conteh says the Public Account Committee (PAC) deposited Le30 billion to the consolidated revenue fund. He made the submissions on Thursday 26 July 2024 at the Administrative Building in Parliament.
Hon Tawa is the deputy speaker of parliament. He said Le 3.2 billion is limbo as it is still not transferred to the consolidated revenue fund.
“We have garnished out bank accounts of big businesses that involved and these monies have paid to the. Don’t be surprised if we do such to SLRSA.”
The Committee also discovered payment without supporting documents for overseas travel expenses by some SLRSA staff.
The Director of Finance SLRSA, Joseph H. Momoh, said the amount is disbursed to staff to enable them travel abroad.
Deputy Speaker has ordered three officials of SLRSA to refund back 3,500 pounds to the authority’s account.
The amount is to be deducted from the account of the director of finance, human resources manager.
The PAC has also discovered that a sum of Le 584,785 was paid by SLRSA as Corporate Social Responsibility but was not properly accounted for.
The deputy speaker said government monies cannot be used without justification.
