The Acting head of the Transnational Organize Crime Unit (TUCOU) of the Sierra Leone Police on Wednesday November 7th 2023 informed at the Police Press Briefing held at Police Headquarters George Street that they have seized 29 Tramadol Cartoons, quantity of Kush and three hundred coloured tablets suspected to be dangerous drug at Lungi, Makeni and Aberdeen in Freetown.
In his summary, he said police upon information received intercepted 29 cartoons of Tramadol on board the Kenyan Airlines flight. He said they alerted the Airport authorities before they embark on the operations. He said, upon verification, he said Tramadol is more powerful than the habitual common in our market. He said they contacted the suspected owner whose particular were in their custody.
He said the suspect responded that he is in Kambia heading for the neighboring Guinea. He said however, the investigations continue while the cartoons are in police custody. In another development, the Acting Head informed that on October 31st 2023 one Mohamed Sesay was arrested at Macota Checkpoint with quantity of Kush twelve miles to Makeni City.
He said the suspect is detained until the outcome of the forensic report before he could be charge to court. He said one Fatmata Kamara was arrested at Aberdeen beach along with three hundred coloured tablets, suspected to be dangerous drugs. He said the matter is also under investigations. In another efforts, police have also detained a foreign national at Bailey Street with Tramadol, Kush and substance believe to be used in the manufacture of Kush.
