Ahead of the 2024 World Cup qualification, Sierra Leone’s national team head coach, Amidu Karim has named 23-man-squad in the country’s upcoming clash with Djibouti and Burkina Faso respectively.
There are huge worries in the call up and according to many people Coach Karim has failed to invest in the home base forward players especially with the likes of Musa Noah Kamara aka Tombo, Suffian Kalokoh and others.
Sierra Leone will clash with Burkina Faso on Monday 10th June and with Djibouti on the 5th June in the Group stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
Goalkeepers are: Mohamed Nbalie Kamara, Francis Koroma, Issac Caulker; defenders are: Steven Caulker, Abdul Jarju Kabia, Osman Kakay Curtis Kakay, Emmanuel Samadiya, Yusuf Sesay, Mohamed Kabia, Abdulai Juma Bah: Midfielders Kamil Conteh, Alusine Koroma, Alhassan Koroma, Ibrahim Sillah, Abu Dumbuya, Mustapha Bundu, Rodney Micheal, Alpha Conteh, AugustuS Kargbo; forwards: Salieu Bah, Daniel Kanu, Amadou Bakayoko.
Football pundits at home and abroad have strongly vented out dismay over the massive selection of overseas players, adding that majority are not playing effective football in their various clubs in Europe, but many are playing conference league only.
