As the men’s national team is presently struggling to have a formidable first eleven in the World Cup qualifying campaign, Derby County midfielder and Sierra Leonean star, Tyrese Fornah, has been called up to represent Sierra Leone for the very first time.
Though he secured early red card at 39 minutes, Fornah, who joined the Rams back in August from Nottingham Forest, qualified to play for Sierra Leone through his father linage who was born in the black country.
The 23-year-old was eligible to play for the Leone Stars, Ghana and England but has settled on for his father’s loved nation and had made his first-ever cap.
Fornah had been called up for two big World Cup Qualifiers for Sierra Leone against Ethiopia in Casablanca on 15th November and Egypt on 19th November in Monrovia.
On his debut on the international stage, he played alongside former Rams captain and defender Curtis Davies who recently made his debut for the Leone Stars at the age of 38.
Meanwhile, football fans expressed happiness in the first 20 minutes of play due to the wonderful performance displayed by Coach Amidu Karim and team during Egypt match.
But it was unfortunate for the fans to have a point against their opponent in the first leg owing to two red cards slammed on the boys of Sierra Lyoa.
