In a significant development during the commencement of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearings for Local Councils audit reports in Kenema District, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Chairman of the PAC made a key announcement concerning the leadership of the PAC Secretariat (PACS).
The announcement of a new boss was made on 23 August, 2024.
The Deputy Speaker officially declared that Augustine Sesay, the esteemed Principal Clerk of Committees of the Sierra Leone Parliament, will assume the role of Head of the PAC Secretariat.
“This appointment recognizes Sesay’s exemplary service and outstanding contributions to Parliament,” says the deputy speaker.
Before this announcement, the dynamic young man, had served as the Committee’s clerk person at the Works and Public Assets Committee, as well as serving at the Transparency and Accountability Committee.
“Augustine Sesay has also served as a Researcher to the PAC during the Fourth Parliament and has been an integral part of various ad hoc committees established by Parliament to investigate matters of state interest.”
The senior MP said Sesay had earned a stellar reputation for his diligent work and unwavering commitment to the PAC, making this appointment well-deserved.
“He is highly respected and admired by his colleagues for his steadfastness and dedication to his work.”
