For involving into gay activities, Police Declares Ibrahim Mansaray wanted
A sales supervisor Mary Sophian George who was working for Royal Air Moroc in Freetown on Thursday 23 May 2924 testifies before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Court No.1, Pademba Road, Freetown.
The accused was charged with three counts ranging from office breaking and Larceny as contrary to Section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916; and for malicious damage as contrary to section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861 and for threatening to burn down a house as contrary to Section 50 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861.
According to the particulars of offence in count one it was alleged that the accused on the 27th October, 2023 at Wilkinson Road in Freetown with intent to steal, she broke and entered into the office of the Royal Air Moroc and stole there some cash of Thirty-one Thousand Nine Hundred Leones, Six hundred and twenty five United States dollars equivalent to Fifteen thousand three hundred and seventy five thousand Leones, HP computer laptop valued at six hundred United States dollars, six jerry cans of diesel valued one thousand two hundred Leones, and two 23kg luggage valued four hundred and sixty United States dollars each, the converted properties valued total of Eighty – Five Thousand Eight hundred and sixty seven Leones as properties of Royal Air Moroc.
While in count two it was stated that the accused maliciously damaged five doors, three cupboards, seven CCTV cameras plus DVR all to the total sum of Seventy Six Thousand Two Hundred and Eleven Leones as properties of Air Moroc.
And in count three she threatened to burn down the house at 16B Wilkinson Road in Freetown.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused, she pleaded not guilty.
The witness said she knew the accused as Regina Essien who was one of their staff.
The witness recalled on the 27 October 2023 at home when she received a call to come to the office at Wilkinson Road.
On arrival the witness saw the front doors, and her cupboard was damaged; she went inside the office and saw documents scattered on the ground.
The witness further said that the country Director Office Abubakarr Saadene also was damaged, and that one of the stores and the main door were also damaged.
She further that the 2 CCTV camera outside was also damaged.
She then called on the Country Director and was accompanied by the police.
On the arrival of the police, statements were taken from her at the office and later played the CCTV footage and saw the accused Regina Essien walking toward one of the rooms where the safe is but the door was locked and the accused rushed into the luggage room and came out with her face covered with clothes.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to 3rd June 2024 and the accused was given bail.
