In a significant development aimed at enhancing port security operations, Sonoco Group SL Limited, has officially handed over the keys of a newly erected building to the management of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA).

This transfer marks a pivotal moment in bolstering security measures at the ports.

It promised that some military guards are set to be re-located to the newly designated facility.

Mark Pritchard, General Manager of Sonoco Group SL Limited, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration between his company and the SLPHA management.

He emphasized his optimism for the continuation of this partnership, and thus underscoring the mutual benefits the partnership will bring to both entities and the broader community.

The handover ceremony was also attended by Martin Maada George Esq, the Company Secretary of SLPHA, who represented the director-general.

“On behalf of SLPHA, I extend our sincere appreciation to SONOCO Group SL Limited for their invaluable contribution to our port security initiatives,” remarked Mr. George.
