The Sierra Leone national female U-20 team has secured their first victory against Mauritania on Tuesday 22nd May, 2024 at the Stade Lat Dior in Senegal.
With both sides displaying strong defensive tactics, despite frequent efforts, the game ended in favour of Sierra Leone. Two goals from Kadiatu M. Kamara and Juliet Brima in the 41st and 43rd minutes were enough for the Sierra Queens to secure their win in WAFU Women’s opener.
Skipper, Kadiatu M. Kamara earned the Woman of the Match award after an impressive performance with a lone goal to help Sierra Leone edged their opponent.
The incredible result allowed Sierra Leone to maintain their position in the table with 3 points two goals. The team’s solid performance in their first match showcases their determination and competitiveness in the ongoing international competition.
