Confirmed sources have intimated to the Africa 24 that former flag bearer aspirant and seasoned and erudite Lawyer, Edward Turay has castigated the hierarchy and former Chairman and Leader of the All People’s Congress (APC) party Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma for choosing Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah as running mate for the second time ahead of the June 24th multi-tier elections.
Sources stated that Lawyer Edward Turay said that the leader of the party in parliament who is Chernoh R.M Bah is of no face value to the APC for winning an election, adding that choosing Chericoco as running mate to Dr. Samura Kamara means a big loss for their party ahead of the forthcoming polls.
The sources furthered that Lawyer Turay firmly believes that no one region can win an election as it is the case now with his party to choose Chericoco whom he said does not have any stronghold that will create pathway to take the party back to State House.
According to Lawyer Edward Turay it was based on sound regional blending of both northwest and southeast that made the APC party took back power from the SLPP during the 2007 elections, adding that former president Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma sold the party into the hands of the incumbent president, Rtd. Brig. Dr. Julius Maada Bio.
These sources went on to state that the former flag bearer aspirant suggested that if the APC really wants to take back power from SLPP the hierarchy of the party should have chosen a southeasterner as running mate to Dr. Samura Kamara.
However, information reaching this medium has also intimated that the southeasterners specifically Kono people have registered their dissatisfaction over the new executive of the party in which they noted that they have been sidelined because no one person from Kono was elected to serve the party.
Sources also stated that the Kono people have decided to boycott the APC being that they are controversial or swing voters.
