Former head of state, Captain Valentine ES Melvin Strasser’s disappearance has left many Sierra Leoneans worried especially residents of Allen Town, a place where he was believed to have stayed before his out of public view.

Concerns have been raised about the former head of state Captain Strasser whereabouts. Some asked whether he is alive or dead.

Before leaving Ghana, the former Head of State was battling with ailment perceived to be cancer.  Doctors proved later that he was suffering from an acute cancer which led to his one foot amputated.

According to some Sierra Leoneans, since the Former Head of State returned home after his foot was amputated his public appearance became curtailed.

Many are wondering why just after his return home his amputated foot, he disappeared from public view.

According to some citizens, since his relocation to his alleged new home somewhere in Freetown, his movement from that of his resident to other places were restricted, even visitors are believed to have been banned from reaching him during that period of return from Ghana.

Residents of Allen Town,   are expressing doubts as to his disappearance as the kind of individual they used to have in their midst couldn’t be traced for some time now.

They further said  that, Strasser used to hang out with friends and neighbours in the community, and so for him to be secluded or confined at a place  without being able to reach out to his loved ones is sending a shockwaves and it prompts further questioning about his disappearance.

Many alleged that President Bio was one who heads him in his medication in Ghana and even the House which was allegedly built for Strasser was said to be built by President Bio as a way of up keeping for his colleague ex-military man.

But sadly enough, according to residents since Strasser was given that accommodation, many haven’t had the opportunity to visit and console him for his predicament as a kind of respect to a former head of state.

Others say, many 1992 coup leaders had passed away and their demise was characterized by unpleasant suffering and even the ones that lived after including Rtd Captain Strasser later had gone through a lot of suffering. A many of the coup plotters are currently suffering in their little corners.

According to people who have lived with Strasser, they said, he was a fine gentleman whose love for humanity knows no boundaries, but it is disappointing to see him languishing at a time when everybody is expecting him to have a better life, they said.

Before this time, Strasser used to go to media houses especially radio stations to discuss national issues around 2012.

But lately he has been unable or traced to be interviewed about his poor health status.

The fact remains that even if Strasser two legs were amputated he would have gotten someone to move him from one place to another considering his status as former Head of State, says a man.

Strasser’s status and Whereabouts at the moment are unknown as nobody cares to know what is happening to him at the moment.

Consequently, many are expecting the government or Brigadier Julius Maada Bio to be paying greater attention to Strasser as he was Bio’s, who is now president, boss.
