The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) in partnership with the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has successfully completed a 2-day training workshop for Club Licensing Officers from both male and female premier league clubs at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in Freetown.
The training session empowered over 50 club managers. They are trained to navigate the challenges over club licensing and are empowered on stadium inspection management.
This was done through a special Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) earlier launched to benefit administrators in the African continent.
Speaking to one of the trainees, Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, on behalf of his colleague CAF instructors Hamza Sorouri and Francis Essah Adu applauded the participants for their commitment and passion towards receiving the training.
He noted that they were impressed with the energy shown by participants.
“You made the job very easy for us, we are delighted about your wonderful desire exhibited,” he stated.
In his concluding notes, the Vice President-1 Harold Nat-Johnson, acknowledged the CAF instructors for their diligent work in effectively introducing the online platform to local menfolk and females club licensing officers in the country.
He encouraged all participants to stage workshops programs at their club levels in order to ensure that the knowledge gained so far during CLOP is filtered down to other football administrators.
Mr. Nat-Johnson seized the opportunity to inform the gathering about the progress made in the ongoing construction of five artificial turf pitches across the country, namely:Port Loko Town Field, Bo Coronation Field, Sierra Leone Football Association Academy, and Approved School Playing Field in east end of Freetown.
In his statement, the Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, noted that the training is timely as global football is fast-going digital and Sierra Leone has to stay up to the speed.
He further urged the participants to embrace the platform and always visit it [ the online platform] as, he warned, “practice makes perfect.”
