The Wise Bird was never invited to the launching of the Sierra Leone Law Society (SLLS) so that he could do a better coverage to the public.

But notwithstanding, as the brave bird is a friend to the lawyers, he went into the hall clandestinely and when seen he was not asked to go out.

The bird is not a Lawyer but he is somehow conversant with the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone, so the fact remains that, the formation of the “SIERRA LEONE LAW SOCIETY” is in line with Chapter 111 of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone.

According to the Constitution it speaks about: Freedom of conscience, expression, assembly and of association of the individual.

So, plus minus the lawyers did not go wrong anywhere, it only depends on how some other people will try to interpret it for their own understanding.

The Wise Bird is of the view that, monopoly in some institutions is the problem in Sierra Leone today; it is also a disadvantage to some people.

In Sierra Leone today you have so many Churches and Mosques; this is just to broaden the religion for it to be understood better.

The bird is not supporting any of the Associations; the bird is only looking at the angle of human rights of the individual.

The bird only hopes that, the formation of the Sierra Leone Law Society (SLLS) will not be as the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) which is now under the armpit of politicians.

The blind, the dead, and even the unborn child saw what happened in Kenema at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) where voting slips were given freely even to none-Lawyers to vote.

The brave bird is not talking about rocket sciences, but practical sciences, because the bird was present in the hall where the drama took place.

In many places, the bird has always made himself available un-noticed.

What makes the brave bird very happy is when the bird was told that, the new Constitution is very clear on membership and or Executive positions.

That any member who is politically connected will not hold an executive position and that is a step in the right direction, the bird only hopes they will keep up to that.

The attention of the bird is drawn to the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) about the monopoly of the Association by certain members; it is high time some members to think just as the Lawyer did.

Some members are saying a cabal has been set within SLAJ that is from Secretary General to the Presidency, this trend has been for years in the Association unchallenged.

Will anybody break the cabal? The Wise Bird is waiting to see such a day under the sun.
