One of Sierra Leone’s most decorated club, East End Lions recorded their first win on Wednesday after five matches, breaking a streak of four consecutive draws.
The result moved them up to eight as the victory added three crucial points to their tally of 7 points from 5 matches.
At the Trade Centre playing field, in the 28th minute of play, Sulaiman Kargbo opened the scores before Ibrahim Bangura leveled for the visitors just before the break.
After the recess, the home side showed composure and determination to secure their first win with two more goals from Alie Conteh and Kandeh Turay.
Meanwhile, Mighty Blackpool faced a setback, losing to Ports Authority 2-1 at the Attouga Mini Stadium.
The defeat marked Mighty Blackpoll’s second consecutive defeat following their 2-0 defeat to Lamboi FC in Lungi over the weekend.
Despite the defeats, they maintain a standing of nine (9) points from five (5) matches.
