Credible reports reaching Africa24 media has revealed that there is a desperate search by stakeholders of the female ‘Bondo’ society for Hawa Marrah; three years after she rejected and escaped from forceful initiation into the Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) against her will.

According to report, serious pressure has been mounted for Hawa to undergo the orthodox and unsterilized process of female genital cutting which has rendered severe health complications to young girls who had been forcefully initiated against their consent.

During the course of our investigation, Africa24 further discovered that despite Hawa’s disappearance for over three years; her residence at 32 Maxwell Street, Wellington in the East End of the capital, Freetown is still been raid and hunted by hired assailants who are bent on eliminating her.

Confirmed sources also disclosed to Africa24 that these assailants who are desperately searching for Hawa Marrah have been hired by traditional and “bondo’ stakeholders from Kabala, Koinadugu District in the Northern province of Sierra Leone where Hawa hails from.

Our investigative team found out that the rationale to eliminate Hawa is based on her rejection to become a ‘Sowe’ head of the “Bondo’ society.

Our source went on that, a secret arrangement was made unknowingly to Hawa to become the “Sowei’, an idea Africa 24 found out that Hawa vehemently refused to honor and out rightly kicked against as she had no interest.

Report furthermore stated that the desperate search to eliminate Hawa was due to her rejection of becoming a ‘Sowe’ an action that did not go down well with stakeholders of the female ‘Bondo’ society who had wanted at all cost for Hawa to be the head.

As we go to press last night, intelligent report monitored by Africa24 maintained that these hired assailants have been assigned the task to capture Hawa alive in order for her to undergo forceful initiation.

Other intelligent report unearth by Africa24 also revealed that, if captured alive and Hawa dare refused to comply peacefully; then these assailants will stop at nothing rather than to eliminate her.
