News reaching Africa24 Newspaper that Kadijatu Sarah Camara, a young Sierra Leonean lady who was residing at No. 65 Smart Lane, New England Ville has found herself in a trouble situation with the state for her participation in the August 10, 2022 protest.
During the August 10, 2022 protest six police officers were reportedly killed by the protesters. There were also civilian casualties.
Kadijatu our source says is a die-hard member of the youth wing of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) and has been on several occasion in an open confrontation with the ruling SLPP members both verbally and on social media and was eye marked for death.
According to our investigations, sometimes her provocative messages end up into physical battle with SLPP members within her New England Ville community. Since the SLPP came to power on April 4, 2018 APC supporters have known no peace or justice from the state.
Kadijatu, was visibly seen among the protesters on August 10, 2022 demonstrating against the state for the president’s failure to stabilize the economy of Sierra Leone, increasing hardship, low employment for youths, poor human rights record and no freedom of speech in a democratic governance.
Intelligent reports gathered by Africa24 Newspaper disclosed that since Kadijatu was known and identified by state security apparatus; after the tension have subsided, security forces went on a searching spree at her New England Ville residence with the motive to apprehend her; but fortunately she was nowhere to be seen.
Our source further revealed, that later on Kadijatu found out that her house was no longer safe for her to stay due to the many verbal confrontations she has had with SLPP members within her locality. Moreover, she felt unsafe as the police on many occasions have failed to protect APC members whenever there is altercation between SLPP and APC.
Information gathered reveals that over 140 protesters were arrested who are said to be kept in inhumane conditions at unknown locations without access to legal representation and their families. It is further revealed that they are yet to be brought before a magistrate or a competent court of law to answer to the allegations made against them.
However, it is not clear whether Kadijatu is within the confines of Sierra Leone, but her whereabouts has remained in secret. What the press can confirm is that she is desperately wanted by the State for her action on August 10, 2022.
