Members of Parliament from Public Account Committee (PAC) in Parliament headed by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, have stated that they will ask President Julius Maada Bio to move officials from the Ministry of Lands to another ministry.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated “we are going to recommend to president Bio for officials of the Ministry of Lands to be transferred to other ministries”.
He made the submissions on Thursday 27th June 2024 at the Administrative Building in Parliament.
The Member of Parliament from Koinadugu District has also pointed out that the Ministry of Land which gave the NaSSIT land to individuals is the same ministry that will make opinions on the said land by saying that they are not the ones who possess the land as individuals.
The NASSIT has stated that the institution is working towards getting compensation from people or individuals who have occupied their land at Government Wharf and Angola town.
The Deputy opposition leader in Parliament, Hon Aaron Aruna Koroma has said NaSSIT plaza in Makeni is one of the facilities which has been fully utilized.
“The road leading to the NaSSIT plaza in Makeni is deplorable and it doesn’t befit the status of that plaza,” Hon Aaron Aruna Koroma.
He also said NaSSIT spent 2 billion leones on doing a feasibility study for students’ hostels at FBC, MMTU, EBK, N’jala universities among others.
