Police Inspector Mohamed Jusu has tendered cyber analyst report in court before magistrate Bangura of Pademba road court No2 on the different possession of Mr Ali Jaffal.
The accused made his fifth appearance in court and was arraigned on six counts charges of one in possession of arms without license, possession of amunition without license, having in control of small arms without license, and was held for other related offences all contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the indictments, the accused on the 6th April 2024, at Young Sports Club (YSC) facility at Wilkinson Road Freetown was found in possession of one Makarov pistol without license.
The police further alleged that the accused on the same date and place was found in possession of six 9*19 milimeter without license.
State prosecutor Yusif Isaac Sesay Esq Led Prosecution and witness number five
was one Inspector Mohamed Jusu who is attached at the Cyber Lab Unit at the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters Pademba Road Freetown.
He is the data analyst who examines electronic devices, analyses them and give reports. He recognises the accused person in the dock and he recalled on 10th day April 2024 he was on duty on the said office when he received a correspondent document together with flash drive from Inspector F.J Moosa. The correspondent document was identified by the witness; he said when he received the flash drive he played it and discovered that the video played well.
The witness said because he was not the person that took the video; he run a software called Amped 5 which is a specialised tool use to detect tampered video and he said the video was not tampered with.
As part of Digital metrology the video was played to the accused person and the investigator recorded the responses of the accused person.
He then played the video together with his examiner Sergeant Foday Lebbie and his observation was recorded; the witness said he snapped the accused person on several positions and assured images would be found in the video.
And among the observations the accused person was sported in the video wearing a white shirt and a short black trousers and the accused person was also sported holding pistol. He assembled all the observations put it in writing including the conclusion and the report was signed by him dated 12th April 2024 and Sergeant Lebbie signed too.
As the Co- analyst he said report and the flash drive were produced and tendered in court to form part of the court records Report marked as exhibit L1-4 whilst the flash drive marked as exhibit M.
The video was played and the accused person was shown in the video wearing the white shirt and the short black trousers holding the pistol on his hand.
The witness said the day the accused person was brought to the police station, he took snapshot of him to compare the video footage that was handed over to him and he compared it to the video footage.
The defense counsel Tuma Jabbie sought for a short adjournment date to cross examine the witness.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura adjourned the matter till 14th June 2024 and bail for the accused person continues.
