For involving into gay activities, Police Declares Ibrahim Mansaray wanted

The Management of the Electricity, Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) is appearing to court.
It is because of a failure to fully compensate one of EDSA’s staff by the name John Sarra who was gruesomely involved in an irreparable accident at Spur Loop axis, West End of Freetown.
According to particulars of offense brought against the Management of EDSA at the Freetown High Court presided over by Justice Samuel O Taylor, the Victim John Sarra, the former employee of EDSA Sierra Leone was initial employed as a casual worker in the Preventive and Maintenance arm from the year 2010 to 2020 and his job description included the erection and installation of poles, running of high tension cable, rectifying feeder shortages, and faults, restore or repair damaged wires and poles.
On the 8th of June, he was instructed by his then supervisor, Mr Jorgor to and rectifies some fault at spur Road Wilberforce because there was no power supply there.
He said based on the instruction from his boss he immediately went to Buluebell at Spur Road and upon arrival there he called to informed the substation that he was about to start the repairs and that they should turn off light while he was doing the work but, unfortunately the high tension current was switched on while he was on the pole and that event change his entire life to the worse.
According to John Sarra “after I had informed the substation I dressed up in the protective gears provided to me by EDSA and I went up the pole to fixed the problem, while I was on the pole, without waiting for me notify them that I was finished with the work and come down the pole EDSA then turn on the high tension voltages which caused severe injuries as I was left hanging on the high tension pole for several minutes”.
He said this accident led to the amputation of his hands, his limbs and injury on his right lower limb.
John Sarra maintained that after the incident, he was rescued by some people who rushed with him to Connaught Hospital but was later referred to 34 Military Hospital where he was hospitalized for several months.
He informed that EDSA started paying his medical bills for short period and later abandons him at the hospital without paying any further bills and this lead to his further health detioration.
Sarra said, “I was left to die, I sort the services of my lawyers and they wrote a letter to them demanding them to take their responsibility but they refused.”
When the matter was called for hearing, EDSA’s lawyer appeared but could only ask for adjournment, which prompted the judge to asked EDSA legal team submit an “affidavit in opposition”.
The matter comes up on Monday 28th October 2024.
