The Wise Bird has been following the events, and the way and manner in which past and present Presidents have been operating, behaving and their way of governing.

The brave bird after a perfect and very good study of the governance system in the country for the past decades, the brave bird came to the conclusion that, the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone is partly the problem to the democratic process of the country.

The Constitution makes provisions and gives the President a lot of powers that are not questionable by anybody or a group of people.

The President has the power to appoint anybody at any time without consulting anybody.

The President appoints the Chief Justice, Head of the Army, Inspector General of Police, Head of Prison, Cabinet Ministers and many more.

This is more the reason the police are always seemingly in support of any government in power because the Head of the Police is usually appointed by the President, and so plus/minus one cannot bites the finger that feeds him/her.

The only way to salvage the situation is to review the Constitution as the Wise Bird is made to understand that the review process is ongoing.

The Wise Bird is of the view that, the drafters of the 1991 Constitution did not envisage all what is happening now in the country.

Dr. Peter L. Tucker and team may have meant well for this country as did what they did in the best interest of the nation. But because of their anxious for power, some unscrupulous individuals have gone extra-miles to manipulate the system to their own advantage.

The Wise Bird only hopes that, the committee that is responsible in reviewing the Constitution will look into certain areas in the best interest of the people and the country as a whole.
