For involving into gay activities, Police Declares Ibrahim Mansaray wanted
Pastor David Chambers has made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown.
They are summoned on a private criminal sermons for which the defendant is charged with five Count charges to wit Assault occaisioning actual bodily harm, Larceny, public insult,Abusive language and Threatening language.
According to the particulars of offence on the 15th April 2024 at Goderich the western area in Freetown assaulted Pastor Claudius Freeman and Fatu Freeman the complainant herein occaisioning bodily harm.
On count two the accused person on the above date and place stole from Fatu Freeman a handbag valued one thousand Leones containing the sum of sixty thousand Leones thereby depriving her of the same.
Count three further stated that on the said date in the view of the public and in the presence of pastor Claudius Freeman and Fatu Freeman insulted them in a manner of provocation of them and which amounts for a committal breach of the peace
On count four on the above date and place the accused person used abusive language against pastor Claudius Freeman and Fatu Freeman with intent to provoke them to commit a breach of the peace.
On count five on the above date and place the accused person used threatening languages against pastor Claudius Freeman and Fatu Freeman with intent to provoke them to commit a breach of the peace.
When the offence was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded not guilty.
Counsel who is representing the defendant Mr During sought for short adjournment date for him to lead his witness.
The defense counsel I.S Y Kamara applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person saying that he is a Sierra Leonean resident and within this jurisdiction he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to reach an understanding on his behalf. He will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will he jumps bail and he made his application pursuant to section 79 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura granted the accused person bail on his own consideration and the matter was adjourned to the 20th June 2024.
