Bra Parrot has a lot of friends one of them is the Eagle. The Eagle is a trader, moves from place to place to sell goods.
Over the weekend, a report came that, the Eagle was coming to Freetown to buy some goods and also to see friends. 0n the way, the Eagle involved in an accident and eventually died. The Eagle was taken back to Kenema for burial, as Kenema is his home town.
Upon hearing the news, Bra Parrot wasted no time, the brave bird flew to Kenema to sympathize with the family and also to take part in the funeral arrangements.
Bra Parrot met old friends and made new ones. After the funeral, Bra Parrot was moving from place to place by way of visiting old friends and during the process Bra Parrot met a long-time friend and they started to talk about good old days.
Unknowing that, he was talking to brave Bra Parrot, the friend was very quick to say, the coming election is a do or die election because APC will want to take over power and that will not be possible. We will fight it out in all fronts to win.
The long-time friend was so opened that, he explained everything to the brave bird unknowingly. He said we have tried almost all our strategies to win before the coming election that did not work to our advantage. The long-time friend went further to tell Bra Parrot unknowingly that, I quote, our latest plan now is that after the polls, the commissioner will cancel about 65% of the strong-holds of the APC when the results are announced. The long-time friend did not stop at that, he named areas to be cancelled, Freetown, Makeni, Port Loko and even part of Kambia.
Bra Parrot told the long-time friend that, the elections will be having both Local and International observers to monitor the process but the long-time friend said don’t worry about that, it will be taken care off.
The following day, the long-time friend met Bra Parrot at the hotel where the brave bird stayed, and by way of assisting he gave the brave bird some money for transport.
Bra Parrot left Kenema for Freetown, on the way coming, the brave bird spoke to a lot of people in respect of the coming election, anyone the brave bird talked to has his/her own story to narrate, some were for the APC and others are for the ruling SLPP.
Reaching at Wellington east of the Capital Freetown, the brave bird met holes and holes on the street with very heavy traffic congestion with hundreds and hundreds of vehicles lined up.
When the brave bird saw the traffic, he flew down to know what was happening.
To the dismay of the brave bird, he saw heavy machines on the road digging, digging what? God alone knows. Bra Parrot went closer to one of the drivers of the machines and asked him what is happening? The driver said we are working on the road, so that we can have better roads.
As the brave bird was talking to the driver, a young-man joined the discussion and said you cannot fatten your cow on a market day.
Bra Parrot was very quick to ask what the young mean. The gentleman said four (4) + you did not do anything for the people of the nation, when it is now three months + days you are digging all over the place in the name of making roads. The gentleman went further to say that, if President is really working in the interest of the nation, he should have gone to Guard Street and even Eastern Police round-about which is now waterlogged.
The young man said it means President Bio is now making roads to win the election come June 24, 2023, ‘buff’ the young said.
After a day’s work Bra Parrot flew quickly to its usual sitting place at the historic cotton tree.
