A popular philanthropist and Development partner in Makeni City, Northern Region , Dr. Roland Turay, has decided to file an appeal suit against the decision of a court presided by Magistrate Yillah.
The court’s decision saw the unconditional release of an accused despite he pleaded guilty of all the three count charges made against him.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused Mohamed Bangura of Mamaso Village, Bombali Sharry Chiefdom, Bombali district, on diverse dates reined invectives language on Dr. Roland Turay and his mother, and the accused was uttering threatening remarks and other derogatory statements against the complainant.
Having pleaded guilty and sent to Prison, the Plaintiff said he was surprised just two hours after that Magistrate ruling but to see the accused roaming the streets and boasting of his connections or influence to high-ranking personalities.
Dr Roland said he had gone to court to seek redress in a bid to mitigate lawlessness in society.
“But the boy was released just two hours later without reference to me,” he said stressing that the accused will continue with his bad behaviour all over again.
“I expected the law interpreters to deal with him so as to serve as a deterrent to other unruly boys in our district,” the learned business mogul said, adding that both he and his mother were insulted without just cause.
