Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone, successfully hosted the 45th edition of its Inter-Hall Athletics Sports Meet on April 24 and 26, 2025. The event was spearheaded by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) of FBC, Professor Kelleh Gbawuru Mansaray, together with his administration.

The colourful sports meet attracted a host of dignitaries, including the Deputy Chinese Ambassador, who served as the Grand Chief Patron of the event.

This year’s edition marked a historic moment with the introduction of a new hall, Lati Hyde Forster Hall, represented by the color purple, joining the existing three halls: Bai Bureh, Solomon Caulker, and Davidson Nicol.

Congratulations poured in for Bai Bureh Hall, who emerged as champions for the fifth time. Solomon Caulker Hall secured second place, followed by Davidson Nicol in third place, and the newly established Lati Hyde Forster Hall finished fourth.

Professor Kelleh Gbawuru Mansaray expressed gratitude for his outstanding leadership, highlighting his commitment to balancing academic excellence with extracurricular activities. Students praised the peaceful and organized nature of the sports meet, stressing that since Prof. Kelleh assumed office, campus life has seen remarkable stability, with no strike actions disrupting academic activities. They noted that the revival of the sports meet in 2022 after several years of absence is a testament to his dedication.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace on campus and promised to ensure that the university’s tradition of hosting the annual sports meet continues to thrive.

The sports meet is an important tradition for FBC, providing a refreshing break for students.
