After a long absence, Alhaji Kamara who plays his football in Portugal has been called to join the national team as Leone Stars prepare for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers in the upcoming days.
Coach Karim’s team is preparing for a crucial double as they aim to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco 2025.
The first match against Chad is set for Wednesday, November 13.
A victory would bring them closer to securing a spot in the tournament and boosting their confidence for the following game against Zambia.
Sierra Leone and Chad previously had played with the ended in a goalless draw in their first encounter at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in September. Leone Stars woefully failed to capitalize a win as host nation by then.
Alhaji Kamara scored against Ivory Coast in a 2-2 draw during the 2021 AFCON held at the Stade de Japoma in Douala, Cameroon.
He has an opportunity again to showcase his scoring ability in the upcoming game.
