The newly appointed Executive Director of SLRSA James Baggie Bio had on Saturday 15th March 2025 addressed road safety corps at SLRSA’s headquarters on Kissy Road Freetown.
In his opening statement, he thanked the God Almighty for his continued grace upon his life.
Executive Director thanked His Excellency the President Dr. Julius Maada Bio for entrusting him with great responsibility for the second time.
He assured all that by the grace of God and with the support of the Corps he will deliver diligently.
The Executive Director also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Road Safety Corps whom he referred to as the bedrock of the institution.
He added that the support they gave him during his term as the Deputy Executive Director and Head of Operations had led to his elevation to being the substantive Executive Director of SLRSA.
James Bio, highlighted three main action points, which are to be achieved within his 100 days in office.
In his statement, Mr. Bio promised to look into staff welfare and the condition of services, and by instilling discipline among Corps to ensure progress and Revenue Mobilization in order to sustain the gains already made during and after his 100 days in office.
Mr. James Bio described himself as the ‘UNIFIER’ and he formally introduced his newly appointed Deputy Executive Director Mr. Josie Scott-Manga who he promised to work hand in glove with to ensure that they deliver especially on one of the key mandates of the institution.
Of which is to promote Road Safety and ensure for the safety of the people of Sierra Leone.
“I and my Deputy including the Chairman of the Board will carry out a need assessment tour to all stations to ensure that the required tools to aid our operation are made available,” he added.
He assured the Road Safety Corps of giving them quarterly training to improve performance, ethical behaviour and to exhibit professionalism while executing their lawful duties.
He described the Road Safety Corps as the emblem of the Authority.
The executive director said his administration will ensure Human Capital Development is promoted in every facet in Sierra Leone.
The human capital development agenda is in tandem with His Excellency’s President Maada Bio’s National Agenda.
The newly appointed Deputy Executive Director Mr. Josie Scott Manga, in his address said, he is ready to work with the Agenda of his boss.
He promised they will work together for the common good of the Authority and the nation as a whole.
He is also the head of operations, and he Scott-Manga assured of his full support to every departments.
“There will be no room for slothful attitude towards work,” he emphasized.
Speaking about their plans ahead, the Deputy Executive Director and Operations head, Mr Scott-Manga encouraged all Road Safety Corps to maintain the attendance register at SLRSA.
