The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has held talks with Chelsea defender, Trevor Chalobah.
The captain, who made 3 appearances for England U-21 in 2019, was born in the Sierra Leonean, Freetown in 1999 but migrated with his family at a very young age to England.
He added that SLFA scout, Christian Dauda is monitoring the situation.
The centre-back has several honours since joining the Blues including the 2017-18 FA Cup, 2021 UEFA Super Cup and the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup.
Chalobah, 6ft-4in. tall has over 55 appearances for the Chelsea senior team since 2018.
And with football fans believing that he will make a meaningful input to the Leone Stars backline and Leone Stars has conceded so many goals both friendlies and international tournament in recent times.
Presently, Leone Stars technical side also announced the return of former Eredivisie Cambuur winger, Issa Kallon of returning to national duties after nearly two years out. The Nantong Zhiyun winger was part of the call up 2021 AFCON squad in Cameroon where he made two appearances off the bench.
Meanwhile, the FA could not confirm his availability for this year’s World Cup Qualifiers campaigns.
According to the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Media Unit, they confirmed that the skipper (Chalobah) was contacted to change his nationality to Leone Stars.
‘’He promised to consider our request,” says SLFA.
