Sources informed this medium that, the entering of the ACC to investigate Parliament is timly and it will address the much-talked about politically motivated sackings and corruption in parliament.
It could be recalled that, over 130 Parliamentary Staff were sacked and a few of them had accused the Clerk of Parliament of employing his wife, who has been collecting some colossal amount of money at the expense of the State.
However, the Speaker of Parliament, had also stated that, he was not aware of the sackings and had been very furious with his leaders in Parliament for their actions.
Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Hon Abdul Kargbo, is also very disturbed with the news and has called for prompt investigations into such grave allegations.
Other MPs have accused the leadership of Parliament for what he referred to as a ‘bias sacking” of some experienced personnel in Parliament.
In other to look into the sackings and corruption allegations, the leadership of parliament, has instituted a Committee to investigate the latest allegations and it will come up with recommendations soonest.
Political pundits say, the Committee instituted in Parliament, will not yield any dividend because, the Clerk of Parliament was alleged to have employed his wife and he is present in the committee which is said to influence the outcome of the investigations.
They therefore, called on the leadership of parliament, to contract people outside the House to investigate the “latest parliamentary sackings” and the corruption allegations.
