On Tuesday October 22nd, 2024, Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, along with her deputy Kweku Lisk and Chief Administrator Rahman Tom Farmar, and other FCC staff, met with representatives of the Implementation Support Mission (ISM) of the World Bank’s Resilient Urban Sierra Leone Project (RUSLP).
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of RUSLP projects for which Freetown City Council (FCC) is the beneficiary.
The World Bank delegation was led by Francis Samson Nkoka, Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist and the PIU Lead who is Anthony Koroma.
The World Bank RUSLP support covers several initiatives namely: the #FreetownTheTreeTown, 3 Informal Settlement Upgrades, the Development of a Western Area Regional Structure Plan, and Development of a Freetown Structure Plan. The World Bank continues to be a key donor partner to supporting FCC’s Transform Freetown.
The Transform Freetown initiative is pegged on calls for Transforming Lives Development Agenda.
